DNA sequencing of the human enteric adenovirus type 41 Tak position 83.1% to the AccI site at map position 87 .1%. Bases (1) genome upstream from the fiber protein gene (2) revealed 1161 to 1402 overlap the sequence published earlier by us (2). an open reading frame of 387 amino acids coding for a 41.4K protein. The first 42 amino acids of this protein show a high RFFERENCES degree of homology both to Ad41 (74%) and Ad2 (61 %) 60K fiber protein tail domains (2, 3). Further, amino acids 43 to 233 '• v a n Loon.A.E., Rozijn.T.H., dc Jongj.c. and Sussenbach.J.S. (1985) form a typical shaft domain of twelve 15-residue repetitive motifs „ Y}°!t **!' Jr. and Lufug.R.B. which is in contrast to 22 such repeats found for Ad2 (3), Ad5 (1989) Nucl Adds ^ 17 ^1A (4), and Ad41 or 6 repeats found for Ad3 (5) and Ad7 (6). The 3.
